The Cell Biology and Biotechnology department develops experimental research in gene regulation mechanisms in cell cycle in prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, microbial evolution, stem cells in epithelial and vascular development, cellular homeostasis, bioenergetics and pathophysiology in genetic diseases, and genetic and nutritional interventions in aging control.
