The first joint symposium of early career researchers in biology and biomedicine in Seville has brought together staff from CABIMER, CABD and iBIS with the support of Professor Gabriel Nuñez.
This meeting is called SECRIS: Symposium of Early Career Research Investigators of Seville, and has had its first edition in February 2025.
The symposium was welcomed by the director of iBIS, Rafael Fernandez, who acted as host.
The session 'Cancer biology and senescence' has counted with David Macías (iBIS) & Patricia Altea (Cabimer).
Followed by the session 'neurobiology of aging' with talks by Aida Platero (iBIS) and Mercedes Pérez (CABD).
To talk about 'Cell Dynamics' the works of Daniel Rico (Cabimer) & Salvador Herrera (CABD) were heard and discussed.
The work of the speakers has been rewarded.
Peter Askjaer, director of CABD and José Carlos Reyes, director of Cabimer, gave the closing speech.
The collaboration between the 3 centers located in Seville creates a climate of much needed scientific synergy. Thanks to Gabriel Núñez for the initiative and to the CABD organizing committee: Lola Berdún and Daniel Barcenilla. A great to way to boost the collaboration in Sevilla.
