The CABD mouse facility at the University Pablo de Olavide in Seville, conducts a hands-on five day intensive transgenic workshop during November in collaboration with Dr L.Eshkind and Dr. Svetlana Ohnngemach, from Mainz University, Germany. This workshop includes hands-on laboratory exercises which is intended for those who wish to develop a strong background in mouse transgenic technologies and applications. On-line registration is available until 9tht of November. Workshop for 5 participants only. Please send your CV and statement of interests (mjsansan(at)upo(dot)es). Participants are encouraged to contact the facility. No registration fee. Travel and lodging expenses have to be covered by the applicants. Each participant receives a binder containing all materials presented in the workshop along with laboratory protocols and references. The course covers the following areas:

Early mouse embryo development
Optimizing constructs for in vivo expression
Preparation of females for embryo collection
Pronuclear microinjection
Generation of pseudopregnant females
Implantation in foster mothers
Identification of transgenic progeny
Assisted reproductive technology
Live and video demonstrations
Hands-on exercises (e.g. superovulation; embryo harvest and transfer; microinjection).
